Development of students' honest affective assessment instruments at the junior high school level as the implementation of character education

Abstract:

This study aims to develop an honest affective assessment instrument for junior high school students as an implementation of character education and determine the quality of the research instrument by testing validity and reliability. This research is included in the R & D research type, a process used to produce honest affective assessment instrument products for junior high school students and equivalent and test their effectiveness using the Djemari Mardapi model modified according to research needs. This research develops honest affective instruments as an implementation of character education. The instrument development process was tested at Sekolah Menengah Junior Negeri 16 Yogyakarta in grades 7 and 8. Before testing the instrument, the first step is to carry out expert validation and readability. From the results of a limited trial of 100 respondents, an Alpha value of 0.628 was obtained while the critical r value (2-sided test) at 5% significance with n = 141 of the 25 questions, there were 5 that were void or invalid. Then the instrument was expanded to 216 respondents. The results of this second instrument test showed the results of 25 questions with a Cronbach's alpha value of 0.681, and it can be concluded that honest affective instruments are all reliable or constant. This questionnaire result showed that the honest affective attitude of students of Sekolah Menengah Pertana Negeri 16 Yogyakarta as an implementation of character education is very high
