Abstract:

Determinants of students' usage behavior towards Elena: An empirical study based on the UTAUT2 Model

Abstract: This research attempts to investigate the performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, habit, and hedonic motivation's influence on Elena's behavior of use, with behavioral intention as a mediator. The study population is the students of the Economics Education Department, class 2020–2021. From a population of 800, the sample of 267 respondents were collected. Questionnaires were used to collect data and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was applied to analyze the data with the assistance of SmartPLS 3 software. The findings indicate that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, habit, and hedonic motivation have significant and positive impacts on behavioral intention. Additionally, behavioral intention, facilitating conditions, and habit have a significant impact on Elena's actual use behavior. Behavioral intention is also demonstrated to act as a mediator in the linkage between the six independent variables and Elena's use behavior. Students of the Economics Education Department at FEB UNNES are suggested to keep on enhancing their competences and proficiency in utilizing information technology because it is more and more important nowadays. Future studies are urged to explore other users' attitudes, e.g., lecturers or system administrators, and other measures that would be more appropriate for present conditions, since this study had to operate within a limited time.
